Unpaged picture book. Greenwillow Books/ HarperCollins Publishers, January, 2011.
This homage to the power of imagination and a mother's love is painted in pastels, but greens and pinks and yellows dominate. Little Rabbit imagines himself as green as grass and as tall as pine trees as he frolics around the meadow. After an encounter with a cat, which renders Rabbit immobile, he returns home to a place where he has no doubt about love.
This is a snuggle, one-on-one sort of read aloud. Little ones will be tickled, intrigued and comforted. The end-pages are decorated, the palette is pleasing. Henkes does it again.
